Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 18, 2026

The Spooder app has not been released yet. The app section below describes the app as it is designed. This policy will be updated when the app ships and whenever its data practices change.

Who we are

This policy is published by Spooder LLC, a Pennsylvania limited liability company ("Spooder", "we", "us"). It covers this website, spooder.app, and the Spooder app for iPhone. Questions about anything in it can go to nick@spooder.app.

This website

spooder.app is a static website. It has no accounts, no forms, no cookies, no analytics, and no tracking. We don't collect anything about you when you visit.

The site is hosted on GitHub Pages. Like any web host, GitHub may record standard technical information such as your IP address and browser type in order to serve the pages. That information is handled under GitHub's privacy statement, and we don't receive it.

The Spooder app

Spooder helps you find friends and events nearby. To do that, the app asks for a few permissions on your iPhone. You can grant or deny each one, and change your mind later in Settings.

Private and public content

Direct messages and private groups are end-to-end encrypted. They can only be read on your device and your friends' devices. Spooder LLC cannot read them, and neither can anyone who relays them along the way.

Public events work differently. Anything you post to a public event, including the event's title, description, time and place, the event chat, and your RSVP, is public by design. It is readable by anyone using Spooder nearby, and it is published to independent relay servers on the open internet that Spooder LLC does not operate. Treat public events like a public bulletin board, not a private conversation.

Your profile

Your display name and bio are shared with people you interact with and published to the same public relays. If you add a profile photo, it is uploaded to public media servers, and anyone with the link can view it. All profile fields are optional.

Analytics

To understand how the app is used and to find bugs, the app can send anonymous usage and diagnostic information, such as which screens are used, whether a feature worked, and how often errors happen. This information is not linked to your name, your contacts, your messages, your events, or your location, and it is never used to track you across other apps or websites. You can turn analytics off at any time in the app's privacy settings.

What we don't do

Children

Spooder is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, email us and we'll take care of it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how Spooder handles your information, we'll update this page and change the date at the top. Significant changes will also be called out in the app.
